Two Brothers
"Two Brothers," a drama about a doctor who cannot cure his own mental illness and the ultimate failure of his older brother to help him, was the inaugural production of KCET-TV?s celebrated Visions series of original television dramas. Judd Hirsch stars as Joe Morris, the older brother, a stable family man and his brother?s principal emotional support. His love for his brother, played by David Spielberg, leads Joe to try to reconstruct and understand the cause of David?s severe mental depression. A doctor at a ghetto free clinic, David has had a series of psychotic episodes and is desperately afraid of going back to a mental institution. Increasingly, David withdraws from life, leaving his brother and his work at the clinic as his only holds on reality.
